Mr. Mister

 —  July 21, 2014 — 114 Comments

Our bodyguard, Mr. Mister,  had a run in with the local police in Cincinnati, Ohio before the concert. Luckily no formal charges were filed and after a brief period of questioning he was free to continue on with the rest of the tour. Hey man, he was just doing his job!

  15. Alexander Szabo’ July 21, 2014 at 9:58 AM

Maybe it’s time to scratch Cinci off the touring calender… You need to come down and Play, ( golf, fish, tan,) down here in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! Times being what they are , it’s tough sometimes to get stateside to see you. Open invitation to you and yours, if you ever want to get away just eMail me and I’ll get you some great accommodations at a super rate on the beach! I’m not anyone important down here, just a working stiff, but ” I know people! ” LOL…

  16. You had me fooled there! What a great little guy!

  17. Too cute! I really wanted ta see what Mr Mister looked like SINCE I met a family witha young son LEAGALLY NAMED Mister!

  18. Glad to hear that Mr. Mister, the ever-vigilant, every-faithful guardian of Our Heritage (That’s YOU Willie) was able to avoid getting hauled off to the ‘juzgado’. It’s just envy, plain and simple. Pigs have always envied the trusted status that Canis Familias has enjoyed, so, they take whatever feeble swipe they can, whenever the opportunity presents itself. Now, I will be the first to admit, that when given the benefit of civilized surroundings and treatment, pigs can be pretty smart, and kinda charming, in their own swiny way, but they just ain’t got that “dawg” thing.

  19. Life is full of bumps. Glad this one was a small one. God bless you and yours real good.

  20. I saw you Willie at a concert at Cherokee Casino once. It was a great concert and I will never forget it. The show was supposed to be about 45min. and Willie just kept on singing well over an hour almost 2 hrs. I enjoyed it so much….Willie did a great job……Thanks!!!!

  21. I’m sure Mr. Mister is simply doing the job he is paid to do. Whatever the incident, it appears to have been handled well. Give him a raise, Willie. LOL.

  27. Lois Bush Todd July 21, 2014 at 10:35 AM

If Mr. Mister was doing his job it was another incident of harassment towards the Willie Nelson organization. I’m glad charges were dropped.

  28. It seems that everytime, with few exeptions, when cops enter the fray, things grow exponentially stupid.. Great pictures of you, Bobby and el-taco doggy. Thanks again for putting eternal cool on my twelve string when you signed it in Tuachan, Ivins, Utah at the March 28th concert. !

  29. I also thought you meant Larry (LG) lol

My dog Kinky Friedman (guess who he’s named for) has tried to stay clear of the law. Just sits around singing ” Let it roll, let it roll, let it roll one time for me. When it gets too kinky for the rest of the world It’s getting just right for me.” He’s a straight shooter.

  41. Protecting his Willie Nelson family. Good for him.

  42. Hang in there Mr. Mister !! It’s a sad day when a man can’t do his job or roll one without getting hassled by the fuzz !! You take care of our Willie !! 😛

  43. Willie hangs with Snoopy Dog and Mr. Mister!

  44. Glad they didn’t shoot him!

  45. Mr. Mister is my kind of bodyguard.

A friend of the common man. (Without them, weed have no farmers or fighting men) And a friend of music, (without music, weed have little joy, and no more ‘Bloody Mary Mornings’. No need for ‘Whiskey River’. You’ve come a long way Willie, a long way! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make contact. I saw you at the arena theater in Houston back in the early 90’s? 91. I am glad he is ok, I would have put up the bail. I want to thank Mr. Nelson for his performance in Michigan. My wife of 35 years and I enjoyed it tremendously. We waited for many years to make it to see you. We had money saved before to go to Texas to see you, but our youngest daughter almost died twice in the last three years. She was never suppose to live and had brain surgery on her 18th birthday. She is doing well and we got to go to the concert instead of a hospital. My wife and I LOVED Allison Krauss and the Union Station also. The opening act young fellow was also very good. THANK YOU!!!! Now my wife wants to go to Farm Aid. I am from Iowa, and my cousin has a family farm in Brighton Iowa. Donnie B Dickison, one of the hardest working guys in the world. Almost 70 now. His dad died when he was 12 , he turned 33 acres into a couple of thousand and many hogs and cattle to take care of his mom and family. I respect you and your group for supporting everyone. You are a wonderful LEGEND. Hang in there buddy.

Good to hear- I was thinkin’ it was high time to reach out again to the infringing agency, like the time I had to call those turkeys down in Mariposa County and politely ask them to release you.

  104. Mr. Mister is so cute.

  105. Judy in Austin July 22, 2014 at 11:32 PM

Willie, the first time I saw you was around 1971-72 at the Sportatorium in Dallas. It was an old wrestling venue – a quonset hut. You played in the ring, and there were bleachers on all 4 sides. Quite the party!

  106. Aww. He’s cute. My pups say Hi to Mr. Mister. Zoe, Tita, and Quigley all know it’s their job to protect their Mama.
